Lionsgate’s BORDERLANDS was supported by a fandom-driven campaign rooted in authentic geek culture and high-touch influencer engagement. The film was activated across key pop-culture spaces through promotional item distribution and giveaways integrated into community events, comic shops, game cafés, fan gatherings, and moments tied to San Diego Comic-Con. Select fan communities also hosted prize-pack giveaways, extending reach among highly engaged genre audiences. To drive opening-day excitement, we delivered custom influencer kits to over 60 creators across Southern California generating over 5.9 million social impressions. Each kit featured film-branded promotional items alongside custom California Donuts, with influencers directing their followers to visit California Donuts on the film’s opening day to receive a free donut. The activation was supported by strong influencer amplification and in-store promotional giveaways.
